First Annual Kern County STEMposium

Set aside part of your morning on Friday, May 19th and stop by the Inaugural Kern County STEMposium at the Bakersfield College gymnasium!  Students will demonstrate some of their best STEM-related projects from the classroom.  Think: robots, pharmaceutical compounding, 3-D printing, and flight simulators just to name a few exciting displays!

As you explore the expo, stop to talk with local students about career paths in your own industry.  Your experience and insight just might provide the spark needed to light a fire in them!  And don’t forget to check out the local business exhibits where the latest, locally-used, technology will be on display.

Throughout the morning, speakers on the STEM Stage will talk about exciting career opportunities in cyber-security, medicine, video game design, and more.  Keynote Speaker, former NASA Astronaut Jose Hernandez, will wrap up the morning by sharing his journey from youth working in California’s fields, to astronaut working on the International Space Station.

Join us for a morning filled with the exchange of ideas and inspiration!
